The Maritime Crew visa (MCV) is a new visa for foreign sea crew which is expected to be introduced from 1 July 2007 and be mandatory from 1 January 2008 . The MCV will replace the Special Purpose visa for foreign crew, which requires no visa application and is automatically granted to foreign crew when they arrive on a non-military ship.
