New System for filing VIsa Application TAGALOG VERSION
1. Modification • Effective 30 th of July, 2007, visa applications at the Consulate-General of Japan at Manila must be made through agencies accredited by the Consulate-General . All applications through these accredited agencies will be accepted at the Consulate-General of Japan at Manila . • However , direct applications may be accepted at the Consulate-General at Manila , Consular Offices in Cebu and Davao for the following specific cases: -
Diplomatic or Official visas -
Visas for invitees by the Japanese government organization/ institution, independent administrative agencies of Japan (such as JICA and JBIC etc.) -
Visas for scholarship awardees sponsored by the government of Japan -
Visas for commercial purpose of employees of joint venture company or a branch office of a Japanese enterprise listed in the Japanese Stocks Exchange or a member of the Japanese Chamber of Commerce and Industry in the Philippines . -
For cases requiring humanitarian consideration such as serious illness of relative in Japan (note) The existing registered agencies of the Consulate Office in Manila for entertainer visas and Nikkeijin applications will retain their accreditation. For Nikkeijin (Japanese descendants born before the end of World War II) who have a Certificate of Eligibility, the Consulate-General at Manila , Consular Offices in Cebu and Davao will continue to accept applications filed directly by these applicants. |
2. Application Procedure
( 1 ) Applications filed through accredited agencies Applications will be accepted from 8:40 to 9:40 a.m. weekdays except for Wednesdays . After accepting the application, a receipt stating the verification date will be issued to the accredited agencies. If the examination of an application is not completed by the verification date, the additional required documents or reasons for the delay in processing will be noted in the receipt. If you wish to know the status of your application, please inquire with the accredited agency. ( 2 ) Applications not filed through accredited agencies For cases indicated in 1 (1) to (4) above, the application procedures are as follows. ○ Consulate-General at Manila Applications will be accepted from 8:40 a.m. weekdays except for Wednesdays . Please obtain a numbered ticket for “Visa Application” from the ticket machine located at the gate of the embassy. The ticket machine will be available from 8:30 to 11:00 a.m . A receipt stating the verification date will be issued for accepted applications. (note: The verification date is not the date when your visa will be issued.) ○ Consular Offices in Cebu and Davao Applications are accepted weekdays from 8:40 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. After an application is accepted, applicant will be contacted by telephone, etc. on when to report at the consular offices. For the case of 1 (5), applicants are advised to directly consult the Consulate-General or nearest consular office. |
3. Others
Please refer to the attached list of accredited agencies, only the agencies 1 to 3 are able to accept applications accompanied with documents written in Japanese (koseki tohon / family registration, juminhyo / residence certificate, invitation letter written in Japanese, etc.) However, applications accompanied with a Certificate of Eligibility can be accepted by any of the agencies. A handling fee will be collected by the agents in accordance with the fees set by each agent.
